Our trainee and PhD programs offer high-grade prospects for young professionals. Our programs aim to promote and develop the most qualified young professionals through exceptional training. So we expect you to be completely committed and give your tasks your all.

Global Champion Trainee Program

Our trainees are our future experts and our future managers.

  1. You should have a master’s degree and outstanding academic performance. We expect our trainees to be cooperative and team-focused, to have excellent communication skills and a results-oriented working style.

     

    If your dedication and academic knowledge are also above average, if you are fluent in English, and if you have already spent time abroad and are internationally minded—then you could be one of our next trainees.

  2. With our unique trainee program, you get access to either the Scania or the MAN trainee program. You will experience 15 months fully packed with learning activities and real business projects, and you will work together with highly experienced international players.

     

    You will define the different rotations during your trainee program with your manager before the program starts. The first stage of the program is normally within your home department, followed by three rotations in other departments and brands of the Volkswagen Truck & Bus Group. Additionally, the program also includes time to be spent in dealerships.

     

    If your performance as a trainee is outstanding, you will get access to an interesting extra module after the regular trainee period for 3 more months. Here you will get the chance to work on a specially commissioned project in alignment with real relevance for the business—and, incidentally, you will  get the chance to present this project to the Truck Board.
     
    You will have a mentor from your home department and from the Corporate Human Resources team throughout the entire program. And once you have completed the program, you will have an excellent network within the company, which you can put to use in your later work with us.

     

     

Truck Doc Program

  1. Our PhD students drive the company’s capacity for innovation, develop new ideas and keep up with the times while applying their academic knowledge in practice.

     

    As we expect excellent performance during the doctorate program, we require top qualifications in advance: A master’s degree or equivalent, outstanding academic performance combined with relevant professional experience (e.g. from internships). Your profile is complete as a result of international experience, high motivation and dedication, strong analytical thinking and a results-oriented working style are also valuable assets.

  2. The Truck Doc Program contributes to your appetite for academic research in an international working environment. The program has various advantages for you as you get: three years of professional work experience, the chance to present your topic to colleagues and work on challenging and future-oriented business needs. As a part of a doctorate network, you will be able to network and extend your professional horizon.

     

    We clearly stipulate that 51 percent of your working hours should be devoted to your PhD. You will discuss with your department how to apply this in practice. Your mentor, who will accompany you throughout the program, will also support this.

Direct Entry

Working with us requires professional experience, familiarity with an international working environment, mostly managerial experience and conduct. Therefore: If you want to join us directly after graduating with an outstanding result, our Global Champion Trainee Program or the Doctorate Program might be the best choice for you.

    If your profile meets our requirements, you will be invited to a phone interview with our HR department so that we can get a better idea of your experience.

    Face-to-face interview

    If your phone interview is successful, you will be invited to a face-to-face interview with the Head of the Business Unit and our HR consultant. Here you will have the chance to get to know us and show your full potential. In order to have a more in-depth discussion and get to know each other better, this may be followed by meetings with other partners and peers.

    After the face-to-face interview we will discuss what we think of you – as will you – and will let you know the outcome as soon as possible.

    We will, of course, discuss your contract and related conditions in depth and will clarify any unanswered questions.

    Onboarding

    During your onboarding on your first working day, you will get a good and comprehensive information pack in order to become a full member of the Volkswagen Truck & Bus team as soon as possible.

    Your business unit will welcome you within your department and take care of introductions.

It is in all parties’ interest to keep the recruitment process as fast as possible.  We involve our business units closely in the process to evaluate your application comprehensively.
